Terms & Conditions

TUITION

Tuition is ONLY available to persons who meet the following criteria: -

·         You (the pupil) are required to have a valid UK Provisional Driving Licence and must be legally entitled to drive in the UK.

·         You must be aged ‘17 or over’, unless you have higher rates of disability living allowance (mobility component), then you are required to be aged ‘16 or over’.

Your Instructor will be a self-employed franchisee, a qualified DVSA Approved Driving Instructor (ADI), or a Potential Driving Instructor (PDI).

The contract for driving tuition, verbal agreement, or written is solely between you (the pupil) and your Instructor.

All matters relating to lesson times, duration, and collection/drop off – Are to be agreed upon between you (the pupil) and your instructor.

Please notify your instructor before lessons of any health matters/disabilities/medications that may impair your judgment, ability, or coordination.

Cancellation of Lessons

Should you wish to cancel a lesson, you are required to provide a minimum of 48hrs prior notice. Verbal telephone contact should be made with your instructor or at least mobile text message providing the cancellation request.

If you (the pupil) do not provide 48hrs prior notice, you may be charged for the lesson(s) concerned.

In the unlikely event, your instructor cancels a lesson; he/she is also required to provide a minimum of 48hrs prior notice. Your lesson will then be rearranged by your instructor to an amicable and suitable time and date.

If your instructor is unable to provide 48hrs prior notice, a single 1x hour lesson will be credited to you.  Unless there are mitigating circumstances beyond the instructor’s control, such as adverse weather conditions or heavily affected traffic conditions, etc.

Your Driving Test

In the event that you have booked your Driving Test, the DVSA requires 3 clear working days to cancel/reschedule your test (see DVSA website for cancellation terms & conditions, etc.). You may be subject to the loss of your test fee in the event you do not provide this 3-day notice.

If your instructor believes that you are not at a test standard level prior to your examination, he/she may advise you to reschedule your test. This may be in the interest of road safety (you and other road users). This may also protect you from the added expense of having to rebook a new test after a possible failure.

We at MOTOV8 require that all our pupils are safe, independent, and responsible drivers prior to examination.

Payments and Lesson Bookings

All payment methods are to be agreed upon between you (the pupil) and your instructor.

Generally, payments are made prior to the commencement of any lesson(s). This is either a cash payment, card or BACS transfer.

If you have purchased a new block booking and wish to cancel this block, you may be eligible for a refund, provided no hours of instruction have been provided/undertaken (refunded by your instructor). Once tuition has commenced, you may not be subject to a refund for the remaining hours. These remaining hours of tuition are to be used with MOTOV8 School of Motoring within 12 months or they will be lost.

Transferability of Lessons

You (the pupil) are not permitted to sell or transfer lessons that have been purchased in your name to any other person.

Insurance

Your Instructor will carry the appropriate valid motor insurance certificate within the tuition vehicle. This will cover you as a pupil provided you are under constant supervision with a qualified ADI.
